Last updated: April 3, 2026

Cinolo ("we", "our", or "us") operates cinolo.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights. By using Cinolo, you agree to this policy.

1. Who We Are

Cinolo is a movie discovery app operated by an independent developer. For data inquiries, contact us at support@cinolo.com.

2. Age Requirement

You must be 13 or older to use Cinolo. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

3. What We Collect

4. How We Use Your Data

We do not sell your data. We do not show you ads.

5. Third-Party Services

6. Cookies & Local Storage

Cinolo uses browser localStorage to save your preferences, swipe history, XP, and settings locally on your device. We do not use tracking cookies. Firebase may use cookies for authentication sessions.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:

EU/UK users: You have additional rights under GDPR including the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Legal basis for processing: contract performance (account features) and legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention).

California residents: You have rights under CCPA to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, and to opt out of sale (we do not sell personal information).

Brazilian users: You have rights under LGPD including access, correction, deletion, and portability.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your Firestore data (watchlist, folders, ratings) and authentication record are deleted within 30 days. localStorage data is cleared immediately on deletion.

9. Security

We use Firebase security rules to restrict data access to authenticated users. Passwords are managed by Firebase Authentication and never stored in plaintext. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant) and never touches our servers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We'll note the "last updated" date at the top. Continued use of Cinolo after changes means you accept the updated policy.
